The 2008 match had originally been scheduled for Sunday August 10th and after a waterlogged pitch delayed the game, it finally took place on Sunday August 24th.
Around 450 people witnessed a fantastic game played in great spirit by some of the best players ever to don the colours of Arthurlie and Pollok. The game raised funds for the Beatson Cancer Care Centre and Accord Hospice.
A stunning strike from Roland Fabiani in the final few minutes gave the Barrhead side a 4-3 victory. The full scoring was:
- John Paisley 0-1
- Stevie Convery 1-1
- Lee Martin 2-1
- Gavin Duncan 3-1
- Ronnie Lowrie 3-2 (pen)
- Barry Lemke 3-3
